Hedge Mustard

This plant volunteers everywhere throughout the beds. It is sometimes cultivated for food; both the leaves and seeds are edible.

Though it is classified as an annual, it seems a lot of plants here are acting like biennials, overwintering and sending up a large flower stalk in May.

I will try some leaves in a salad this summer and see how it tastes.
